What to specify

Define species, solid-versus-veneer construction, visual grade, moisture target, grain match, stain colour, sheen and substrate/emissions requirement. These terms prevent major tender substitutions.

Fabrication & detailing

Use kiln-dried components, balanced veneer construction and solid lipping to exposed edges. Coordinate movement allowances, grain direction, hardware clearances and concealed reinforcement in shop drawings.

Colour & finish approval

Timber and veneer are natural materials. Colour, figure and grain movement vary; a signed control sample and veneer lay-up establish the visual standard before production.

Care & maintenance

Wipe with a soft damp cloth and dry immediately. Use coasters and felt protection; avoid standing water, abrasive cleaners, hot objects and rapid humidity changes.
